Saskatoon Public Library Announces Formline as Prime Architect for the New Central Library Design

We are thrilled to share that Formline Architecture + Urbanism, in collaboration with Chevalier Morales Architectes and Architecture49, has been selected to design Saskatoon’s new central library. This announcement was featured in Canadian Architect, which highlighted the team’s vision and expertise:

“The team was chosen for their expertise and proposed approach to designing a new central library that will embody local First Nation and Métis identities, traditions and cultures, and that will express the aspirations of the Saskatoon community. The team also demonstrated successful experience in designing sustainable, universally accessible buildings.”

This project offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with community stakeholders in shaping a library that reflects the diverse stories and aspirations of Saskatoon’s residents.

Sustainability and universal accessibility are central to the design, ensuring the library not only minimizes its environmental footprint but also remains a welcoming space for people of all abilities. This new central library will serve as both a vital community resource and a cultural hub, fostering learning, connection, and inspiration for generations to come.

We are grateful to the Saskatoon Public Library for entrusting us with this transformative project and look forward to sharing updates as the design process unfolds.
