Liard River Hot Springs Makeover

In 2009, BC Parks began planning a complete renovation of the Liard River hot springs facilities. Despite being a year-round tourist attraction the facilities were run down and offered little access for visitors with mobility challenges. The design lacked reference to the cultural history of the area, while missing the opportunity to showcase the unique and sensitive park environment. With so much potential to be an international tourist destination, it was time for a makeover.
