Office Manager

North Vancouver

Full Time

The Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing daily office operations, ensuring positive employee experience, efficient business processes to produce excellence in design and effective marketing to win new projects and raise our brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage strategic initiatives to improve business operations, marketing and business development, staff efficiency and engagement, and project outcomes
  • Work with our Principal and Projects Managers to assemble and analyze staffing forecasts to manage workloads and consultants
  • Oversee our consultants who support business operations including IT managed service providers, website consultants, software providers, and others
  • Manage the entire recruitment cycle from creating role descriptions and entry interviews, through reference checks and contract negotiation
  • Coordinate staff onboarding and implement other human resource processes, such as annual reviews and policies, as needed
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy, including awards submission, website, social media, media requests and more
  • Develop and maintain a process to respond to Request for Proposals efficiently, and create and submit proposals for new project work
  • Create and post content for social media, and maintain our website adding new content
  • Work with our Principal and Project Managers to support project work, including gathering resources (e.g. articles), compiling presentations, and printing/scanning
  • Manage reception responsibilities including greeting visitors, answering phones, and ordering supplies

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with managing a business, store, or teams
  • Self-managed – can initiate and independently manage work, with input from Principal and Project Managers
  • Able to provide strategic business advice to our Principal, balancing project needs, staff needs, business risk, and financial considerations.
  • Adaptable – able to multi-task across different projects and adapt with a changing business environment
  • Experience managing projects with budget and schedule in mind
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally to facilitate meetings and in writing for proposals
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (In-design, Photoshop)
  • Familiar with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Able to work from our studio in North Vancouver 5 days a week.
  • Nice to have: undergraduate degree in business or MBA
  • Nice to have: experience working in architecture, construction or consulting (accounting, law, engineering),
  • Nice to have: experience writing proposals and responses to RFPs

Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000. Individual compensation packages are based on unique factors to each candidate including skillset, experience, and qualifications.

Senior Architect

North Vancouver

Full Time

We are seeking a Project Architect to join us in our mission to create natural and culturally significant designs. This role significantly contributes to our company by resolving technical issues and complex problems, while mentoring our team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete technical reviews of architectural and consultant drawings, and provide mark-ups of review comments
  • Independently lead the resolution of technical challenges through identifying next steps, which may require collaboration and meeting facilitation, research of codes and manufacturer specifications, and applying your experience to look at options
  • Create high quality designs, including producing drawings, details, and specifications
  • Participate in design team meetings with consultants and clients
  • Mentor staff members, including project managers and architectural designers
  • Present to clients and other stakeholders where required, and prepare presentation materials
  • Conduct architectural calculations and analysis as needed for designs.
  • If of interest, manage projects and project teams, including overseeing the project budget, schedule, and quality of deliverables

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years architecture experience, including minimum 5 years AutoCAD and Revit experience
  • A master’s degree in architecture
  • Registered with AIBC
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to critically review design detail and independently solve technical challenges
  • Experience applying building codes & bylaws
  • Ability to produce well-detailed and accurate construction drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in wood design and wood construction is an asset.
  • Proficient in Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite

Salary Range: $85,000 – $110,000. Individual compensation packages are based on unique factors to each candidate including skillset, experience, and qualifications.

Architectural Designer

North Vancouver

Full Time

We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join us in our mission to create natural and culturally significant designs. This role significantly contributes to our projects by producing excellence in design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly for Principals, Project Architect and others to assist with design, and production of documents.
  • Work independently as required on all phases of a project including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Contract Administration.
  • Production of technical and presentation drawings as required for the project using AutoCAD and Revit, and Rhino.
  • Presentation and rendering work using VRay, illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and other software required.
  • Work with the Principals, Project Architects and others to solve design problems and provide design analysis as required.
  • Researching sustainable technologies.
  • In-house administration requirements including filing, management of project files and standards and assisting with the office organization.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in architecture and eligible for registration or registered with AIBC.
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Rhino, Bluebeam, MS office Suite, Adobe Suite.
  • Detailed oriented, with ability to produce well-detailed construction drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000. Individual compensation packages are based on unique factors to each candidate including skillset, experience, and qualifications.
