Formline Architecture, Chevalier Morales, and Architecture49 Reveal Vision for Saskatoon’s New Central Library

Formline Architecture, in collaboration with Chevalier Morales and Architecture49, is excited to unveil the design concept for the Saskatoon Public Library’s New Central Library. This project represents a major step forward in creating a dynamic, inclusive, and community-centered space that reflects Saskatoon’s growth and cultural identity.

The New Central Library is designed to serve as more than just a place to borrow books; it is envisioned as a cultural hub and a focal point for civic engagement. The design, blending modern architectural principles with Saskatoon’s unique identity, aims to create a welcoming space that fosters learning, creativity, and connection.

Incorporating elements that reflect the local landscape and the cultural richness of the community, the library’s design will feature large open spaces, flexible meeting rooms, and areas designed for both quiet study and interactive activities. Special attention has been given to accessibility, ensuring that the library is fully inclusive, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds.

Formline Architecture, known for its deep understanding of Indigenous design principles, has integrated culturally significant elements into the library’s design, ensuring it reflects the heritage and future aspirations of the region.

This new library is set to become a cornerstone of Saskatoon’s cultural landscape.
