Alfred Waugh Selected as 2022 Atlantic Architectural Design Excellence Awards Juror

Formline Architecture + Urbanism is proud to announce that Alfred Waugh, our principal architect and founder, has been selected as a juror for the inaugural 2022 Atlantic Architectural Design Excellence Awards. This prestigious event, hosted by the four Atlantic Architectural Associations (AANB, AAPEI, NLAA, and NSAA), recognizes and celebrates outstanding architectural design across the Atlantic provinces.

Alfred Waugh, known for his deep commitment to sustainable and culturally respectful design, will bring his unique perspective to this important event. His selection as a juror highlights his contribution to Indigenous design principles and his ongoing efforts to integrate them into modern architecture. As a juror, Alfred will evaluate projects across six categories, including residential, commercial, public, and institutional architecture, to honor the finest work the Atlantic region has to offer.

The awards, held biennially, aim to foster public appreciation of architecture’s vital role in daily life. Alfred’s involvement underscores Formline Architecture’s commitment to design excellence and its dedication to fostering meaningful dialogue within the architectural community.

The winners will be announced at a special event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in May 2022. A digital magazine will be published to showcase all of the submitted projects, celebrating the creative and technical achievements of architects in the Atlantic provinces.
