Rezoning application for a transformative pilot project in Vancouver: the Urban Indigenous Youth Education Program. This visionary initiative is designed to empower Indigenous youth through culturally grounded education, wellness, and community living all in the same building.
Located in the heart of the city, the proposed development included at the time of application:
-190 residential units to provide safe, affordable housing
– A full-service daycare to support young families
– Two Indigenous-led colleges focused on academic excellence and cultural revitalization
– A full-size gymnasium promoting health, recreation, and community connection
This project reflects Formline’s commitment to Indigenous design principles and community-driven planning. It aims to create a vibrant, inclusive space where youth can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
