Project Manager

North Vancouver, in office 5 days a week

Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team in the North Vancouver studio. Reporting to the Principal and either a Senior Project Manager or Associate, this role is ideal for a detail-oriented and organized professional who thrives on leading projects from concept through completion.

The Project Manager will guide design staff, manage consultant teams, and ensure project objectives are delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with the Senior Design Architect and/or Principal, Senior Technical Lead, Design Technology Lead, and Senior Construction Administrator to provide integrated leadership across design, documentation, and construction phases, while serving as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from early design phases through construction completion, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule objectives are achieved.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Design Architect and/or Principal to maintain alignment with the project’s design vision.
  • Provide mentorship and clear direction to junior and intermediate design staff, fostering professional development and teamwork.
  • Coordinate consultant teams and oversee project deliverables, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all disciplines.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and resource allocation in coordination with firm leadership.
  • Partner with the Senior Technical Lead to resolve technical challenges and support the production of high-quality documentation.
  • Work with the Design Technology Lead to implement BIM standards and digital workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Construction Administrator during tendering and construction phases, reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and site reports.
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations, progress updates, and reports to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the project.
  • Uphold compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainable design principles.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch); preference for registration or licensure with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC).
  • 6+ years of professional experience in architecture, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design, building systems, construction methods, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit and project management software is an asset.
  • Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities and organizations is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000. Individual compensation packages are based on unique factors to each candidate including skillset, experience, and qualifications.

Senior Technical Lead

North Vancouver, in office 5 days a week.

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Lead to spearhead the technical execution of complex architectural projects. This role emphasizes the development of intricate construction details, seamless coordination of consultant inputs, and the production of superior construction documentation. As a key mentor in our studio, you will elevate standards in detail development, document coordination, and the integration of high-tech solutions, ensuring projects meet rigorous quality, compliance, and innovation benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical progression of projects from schematic design through construction documentation and administration, incorporating advanced digital tools for precision and efficiency.
  • Develop and refine sophisticated details, building assemblies, and systems integration strategies, with a focus on constructability, sustainability, and emerging technologies such as smart building systems and modular construction.
  • Oversee the preparation and coordination and quality control of construction documents, , guaranteeing clarity, accuracy, and adherence to building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and guide project teams on best practices for documentation, detailing, building systems, and the use of high-tech tools like BIM clash detection and parametric modeling.
  • Review and provide feedback on drawing sets to maintain technical integrity, consistency with firm standards, and integration of innovative materials and technologies.
  • Coordinate consultant drawings, specifications and inputs with architectural documentation, utilizing collaborative platforms for real-time integration and conflict resolution.
  • Stay abreast of evolving building codes, materials, construction methods, industry innovations, and high-tech advancements, including AI-driven design optimization and VR/AR for virtual walkthroughs.
  • Act as an in-house technical expert, offering support across multiple teams, conducting technical reviews, and promoting the adoption of digital workflows to enhance project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with design and project management teams to align technical strategies with project timelines, budgets, and sustainability goals, such as LEED certification principles.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology, degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch), or equivalent professional qualification
  • 10+ years of professional experience focused on technical design and documentation, and complex project delivery in the architectural field.
  • Proven expertise in architectural detailing, building systems integration, and high-tech applications like digital fabrication or prefabrication techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (BIM) and related digital tools, including AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software for modeling, coordination, and documentation
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, construction methodologies, and sustainable practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate large, intricate drawing sets while ensuring technical accuracy and innovation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and mentoring skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a high-tech environment.
  • Registration with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) or eligibility for membership is considered a strong asset; certifications in BIM management or sustainable design (e.g., LEED AP) are highly desirable.

Senior Architect

North Vancouver

We are seeking a Project Architect to join us in our mission to create natural and culturally significant designs. This role significantly contributes to our company by resolving technical issues and complex problems, while mentoring our team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete technical reviews of architectural and consultant drawings, and provide mark-ups of review comments
  • Independently lead the resolution of technical challenges through identifying next steps, which may require collaboration and meeting facilitation, research of codes and manufacturer specifications, and applying your experience to look at options
  • Create high quality designs, including producing drawings, details, and specifications
  • Participate in design team meetings with consultants and clients
  • Mentor staff members, including project managers and architectural designers
  • Present to clients and other stakeholders where required, and prepare presentation materials
  • Conduct architectural calculations and analysis as needed for designs.
  • If of interest, manage projects and project teams, including overseeing the project budget, schedule, and quality of deliverables

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years architecture experience, including minimum 5 years AutoCAD and Revit experience
  • A master’s degree in architecture
  • Registered with AIBC
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to critically review design detail and independently solve technical challenges
  • Experience applying building codes & bylaws
  • Ability to produce well-detailed and accurate construction drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in wood design and wood construction is an asset.
  • Proficient in Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite

Architectural Designer

North Vancouver

Full Time

We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join us in our mission to create natural and culturally significant designs. This role significantly contributes to our projects by producing excellence in design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly for Principals, Project Architect and others to assist with design, and production of documents.
  • Work independently as required on all phases of a project including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Contract Administration.
  • Production of technical and presentation drawings as required for the project using AutoCAD and Revit, and Rhino.
  • Presentation and rendering work using VRay, illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and other software required.
  • Work with the Principals, Project Architects and others to solve design problems and provide design analysis as required.
  • Researching sustainable technologies.
  • In-house administration requirements including filing, management of project files and standards and assisting with the office organization.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in architecture and eligible for registration or registered with AIBC.
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Rhino, Bluebeam, MS office Suite, Adobe Suite.
  • Detailed oriented, with ability to produce well-detailed construction drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000. Individual compensation packages are based on unique factors to each candidate including skillset, experience, and qualifications.
